Acton Arboretum Fall Family Photos | Colleen

I love photographing families at Acton Arboretum. With winding garden paths, lush greenery, and soft natural light filtering through the trees, it’s one of my favorite spots for family photos in the MetroWest area.

This recent family photo session in Acton, MA perfectly captured what I love most about outdoor sessions; natural smiles, genuine connection, and a relaxed, joyful vibe.

A Relaxed, Happy Family Session in the Gardens

We met on a warm, sunny afternoon when the gardens were full of life and color. The Acton Arboretum is beautiful in every season, but late summer and early fall are especially perfect for family photography; the leaves start to change, and the gardens still have vibrant blooms.

This sweet family was full of love and laughter from the start. Their daughter twirled in her floral dress and tiara, showing off her big-sister pride, while her baby brother smiled every time she hugged him. We captured both posed portraits and those candid in-between moments; the kind that tell the real story of family life.

Why I Love Acton Arboretum for Family Photos

  • Variety of backgrounds: From wooded trails and bridges to wildflower gardens and open lawns.

  • Soft, even light: The tree canopy creates the perfect light for flattering, natural photos.

  • Easy access: It’s centrally located with free parking, making it a stress-free choice for families with young kids.
